Day 1: Loved first
“We love him, because he first loved us.”
Before you love anyone well, you are loved. Your worth is not earned by how well you keep the house, how patient you were today or how your marriage looks from the outside. It starts with God’s love for you.
Question: Where are you trying to earn love that God has already given?
Day 2: Strength and dignity
“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”
Proverbs 31 can feel like a list of impossible standards. Its last word is not about productivity at all. It is about fearing the Lord. The woman it praises is grounded in God first, and everything else grows from there.
Question: What would change if you measured your day by faithfulness rather than by everything you got done?
Day 3: Trust
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Much of marriage is trusting God with things you cannot control: your husband’s heart, your family’s future, a hard season you did not choose. You are not asked to understand it all, only to lean on Him.
Question: What are you holding tightly right now that you need to hand to God?
Day 4: A trustworthy heart
“Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.”
Trust in marriage is built in small, ordinary faithfulness: keeping your word, speaking well of your husband to others, being the same person in private and in public. Those quiet choices are worth more than rubies.
Question: What is one small way you could build trust in your marriage this week?
Day 5: Gentle words
“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
A soft answer is not a weak one. It takes strength to answer calmly when you are tired or hurt. Gentleness often opens a conversation that sharp words would have closed.
Question: Is there a conversation where a softer answer might change the outcome?
Day 6: Peace instead of worry
“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Many wives carry the mental load of the whole household. God invites you to bring every one of those worries to Him with thanksgiving, and promises peace in return, even before anything is solved.
Question: What are three worries you can pray about today, and three things you are thankful for?
Day 7: Not alone
“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.”
You were not made to carry everything alone. God gave you Himself, and He gave you a partner. Let your husband in on what you are carrying. Ask for help. Pray together, even briefly.
Question: What is one thing you could share with your husband this week that you have been carrying by yourself?
Keep going together
If this week helped, consider continuing it as a couple. In Anchored, you and your husband read the same Scripture each day and each answer one question, privately and on your own phones. Your answers unlock together once you have both answered. Try Trust & Surrender or Peace in Busy Seasons next.
